Portfolio Countdown: 5 days remaining!

Now that the quarter is coming to an end, reflect upon your work ethic, time management, growth, and participation as a student.

Did you touch the stove this quarter?

Are you person 1, 2, or 3(maybe a combination) that Mr. Robin talked about?

Is there any specific goals you want for next quarter?

*This may help you with the first quarter reflection paper you will have to write.

I definitely touched the stove this quarter, much like I usually do. I always need the realization of "wow I screwed up" before I actually start to succeed.. My goals for next quarter are to spend more time in writing tutoring andless time procrastinating.

I also touched the stove... I got burned pretty bad. I was like person 2 because I had good intentions to succeed in the class, but did not realize the situation I was in until it was almost too late. I am determined to pass this class because I need to prove to myself that I can. I know I need to overcome this challenge and not back down by taking the easy route. My goals for next quarter are to write more than ten prompts and get them revised by more teachers than peers to get better, more informed feedback. I also need to work on completeing assignments on the day they are due and rereading texts to gain a better understanding and allow myself to improve as a reader.

I not only touched the stove last quarter but I realized that I was practically inside of the oven the week before the portfolio was due. My mom constantly scolds me about having to realize and experience the consequences before actually learning from them, and that showed when the portfolio deadline rolled around. Like Mr Robin's metaphor, I was person 2 because I meant to be responsible and prepared with my portfolio, but that didn't happen. This 2nd quarter, my goal is to get all of my prompts revised by a writing tutor instead of peer revisers, and to go and meet with Mr. Robin more. Hopefully these goals will not only help me with my next portfolio, but to improve my writing skills overall.
