I am very excited to take AP Literature and Composition next year. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved reading, so taking a class that focuses on literature is perfect for me. I know some people do not like reading books assigned in school for various reasons, but I have loved every single one that my English teachers have assigned for their classes. For this reason I am very excited to read and study even more books! In addition to AP Literature and Composition, I also plan on taking Speech I. It definitely will be a scary and tough experience for me because I hate presenting in front of others and voicing my opinions, but I am taking the class for this exact reason. I have opinions but I hate speaking up in front of others, so hopefully this class combats my insecurities and makes me a better and more confident communicator.

Next school year I am planning on taking Expo comp, and Rhetoric of music. I plan to take these classes because they interest me and these classes will also benefit me the most when I move onto college. I am not taking E419, because reading ancient literature is not something that interests me nor will it be helpful when I hopefully peruse my career in physical therapy. I am taking expo comp because this class will help me with my writing skills and get me prepared fully before I move on to college. I am taking rhetoric of music because I still want to have Mr. Robin as a teacher and I also find rhetorically analyzing music to be interesting and of enjoyment.

As far as classes that I plan on taking next year, I plan on taking a lot of English classes (Hopefully, three periods worth). I really want to focus on improving my writing skills, and we all know, practice makes perfect (unless you’re practicing the wrong thing). It’s necessary to always keep in mind what can help me in the future and what I need to focus on to get there. At this moment, scholarships are the single factor in me being able to go to college, and I need to focus on that. By practicing writing with a few writing classes next year, I’ll be able to focus on that key skill I will need.

I am looking forward to taking Expository Composition, as well as Speech 2 next year. I believe that developing my writing and speaking abilities will help me become a more effective communicator. The only way of doing so is by practicing those skills. Not only am I interested in improving my writing and speaking skills, but I also enjoy writing and speaking as well. I feel like being able to choose my own topics will allow me to enjoy the writing process a lot more. I am also looking forward to Speech 2 because I enjoy talking and expressing a point to a group of fellow classmates and friends, not only for school purposes but also for fun and I think that with guidance and instruction I will improve my speaking abilities even more. Hopefully the English courses that I have elected to take next year will be of beneficial for me in college and also give me a challenging and fun senior year of high school.

Next year I am taking three different English classes. I am taking expo comp because I still want to improve my writing skills. And I am taking the creative writing class because I love to write. I love writing fictional stories but I never have finished one of my stories because I get a new idea so I stop writing one story and move on to the next. I feel that this class will help give me the motivation I need to get one of my stories done. I also believe that this class will teach me what I need to know about writing different genres. The other English class I am taking is Journalism. When I grow up (I will miss saying that in a year and a half) I am thinking of either being a Journalist or a psychologist while writing books for enjoyment on the side and maybe, someday, getting them published. I am taking AP Psychology next year too. I am hoping that all these classes will give me an idea of what I want to do with my life.
