Little Things that Make Us Happy
Yesterday, the fact that the right spout of the loveseat water fountain by the bathrooms near the English office showered me with strong water pressure literally made my day (I chose a long sentence because some might consider this to be insignificant. I used a thorough description to give it more substance... ahh rhetoric).
Simply delicious!
Have any small, or what some would consider insignificant, things brought delight into your life lately?

Well, since this blog is very English-related, this post automatically made me think about books.
Anyway, of all of the events that popped into my head when I read this post, one of the small things that happens to me every once in a while that makes me especially happy is picking up an old book I've read many times, rereading it, and still being surprised and/or amazed by the ending.

Hi "Ninja"! Remember, we should be able to find aspects of all appeals in anything we rhetorically analyze. It is fine to see logos as the appeal that comes forward most strongly.
Personally, I would consider "bother" as a general appeal to pathos, but I definitely see your point. In fact, seeing a certain appeal might mean that a specific pet peeve has appealed to you OR it may just be your epistemology (how you see truth in the world).
Has anyone noticed that AWESOME smell in the middle staiwell (the one that ends infront of the library). That is the smell of new carpet and it is absolutly amzing. I have been making it my goal to use that stairwell whenever it is possible, because that smell is the best thing ever!!If you think that's weird...get over it, you know you like it too.
I have two nieces, aged almost two, and just after at 4...They constantly ask questions and demand answers. I also realize daily, that I know barely anything about the word around me. THe pony at Meijer is free but at the mall you have to pay alot. Why? Why can't my nieces spend the night? Wait.. I know the answer to that question. I need sleep. My sister definitely doesn't know why the "little one" as she's afectionately called, always wakes up really early in the morning, especially the days she ends up babysitting. In all honesty I've never realized how much joy there is in a child's laugh...It's almost like the SCarlet Letter (groan) where Pearl find joy in te little things of life, but for the strict puritans, it seems heathenish.
Ok - Having your name on a poster does rock! Some of my favorite trumpets can be heard within Ben Folds' songs.
Oh, since I just got back from the football game not that long ago, I thought of another little moment that made me really happy. After teaching some freshmen flute bandos how to do some of the motions during the tunes and giving them tips on succeeding in marching band, viewing them dancing along with the rest of us and having a great time just made me extremely proud of them and myself for being able to motivate and teach them.
The band is so akin to a huge family.

P.S. Emily (Cason), I was also proud of your sister because she did a great job (and not too weirded out by you =P).
I've just realized the best things in the world are the few raspberries you eat when picking others into a bowl, even though the sharp spears of both the raspberries and the wild roses keep swinging at you, while you try getting the ones that are on the other side of the fence, since that's where the best ones are at. Of course, the spears hit the mark, and you end up with quite a few itchy scratches that will only bleed if you scratch like you're dying to do. Later, when you realize that your nieces ate the bowl you picked within twenty minutes, or as your washing that bowl with a few drops of raspberry juice in it, you acknowledge that you did the smart thing when you popped a few in your mouth instead of the bowl.
The only sad thing is that as you write about it, all you have to show for it are raspberry stains, scratches, and the faint memory of the sweet and sour taste.
If only a outdoor garden were an all year thing in Illinois.
I'm going to start opening up at work on every other Saturday. It's not like I'm getting a raise or a promotion, but I will be in charge of the front end for a couple hours every two weeks. It's not fun to wake up and be at work at 6:15 after working Friday night. What really is nice is the fact that they trust me enough to do it. Whoohoo!
Another little thing that makes me happy (there really are very many)is my little niece, born yesterday. I haven't gotten to see her yesterday, but my sister in law and brother are coming home tomorrow. Little bundles of joy that screams and cries all night are the best. Joy to the world.
